How To Have The Contagious Energy To Get What You Want In Life
This is another little tip and tool that I want to share with you. I talked about creating gratitude and being grateful. How do you get yourself to where you’re grateful for everything that you have in life? Even the things when you don’t think you’ve got something grateful for, you always have something grateful. What is your focus? Has your focus been where you wanted it to go? What you focused on is what you’re going to bring into your life. I told you that I was going to do another one. Each day I want to bring you something new, some new strategies. It’s the small little changes you make that turn out to get great results in your life.
You want to recreate rituals. These are automatically happening in your daily routine. It’s like when you wake up in the morning. What’s your ritual when you wake up? You get out of bed, what do you do? The first thing you do is head to the restroom. Maybe you brush your teeth, take a shower and you get dressed. You’re grateful for things. We want to go back and make sure that we cover and we go over, “What am I grateful for?” That I wake up and be grateful. If you haven’t done that, think about it. I want to create this ritual in your mind, so you automatically respond. It’s like when you get in a car and you drive. You don’t even have to think about it. It happens automatically.
Contagious Energy
That’s where I want to be with you. I want to talk about not what you’re grateful for, but how do you get rid of stress in your life? How do you always have the energy to get what you want out of life? How do you always wake up thinking, “I want to be empowered and inspired?” Do you ever notice that some people’s energy is always contagious? We did an event in London and it reminds me of this story. This young lady would get up there and it was a fun and energetic group. I remember we went up there. We didn’t expect many people. There were probably 50 people there. It’s a small group. It was our two-day event.
We only were there for a couple of days. We spoke for an hour and a half. I remember this girl showing up and she was full of energy. It was contagious and I remember her name was Rachel. I was like, “Rachel, you are like the leader.” No matter what it was, if there was a competition, we would break them up into 2 and 3 and 4 groups and the competition would win this prize worth about $500. Even if she wasn’t on the team, she’d still cheered for everybody. Everybody had value and everybody loved her. By the end of the event, we’d have her starting to lead where it creates the energy. Get yourself in the right mindset. Make sure you have this energy, so when you walk in a room, you felt good. You wanted to learn.
Energy makes you feel good, and other people receive it as well. Share on XThe thing is when you’re in that energetic state, don’t you learn more? Don’t you apply more? It’s funny that now it is all about energy and all that. She lives in London and she’s starting her events now. She’s like, “We want you to be part of our events.” I’m like, “That’s going to happen. I’m going back over to London and I’ve got another speaking engagement over there. I would love to get together with you.” She and her husband were like, “We can’t wait. It’s exciting.” You could even tell the energy that she’s putting on when she’s texting. The reason why is because she uses emojis and things like that. How do you create energy when you’re texting somebody? Is there a way to do that? There is.
It’s by the word you use when you’re texting. It’s even by the emojis. That can make somebody feel good. Be aware of everything that you’re doing for yourself. When you’re sending these out, when you’re texting them, when you’re on the phone, when you’re writing an email, even if you’re writing an old school, like a letter or a card, when you create the energy, don’t you feel like you’re part of that? It makes you feel good and that transfers. That transforms into other people as well. They’re receiving that. That’s what’s cool about that. The one thing about energy is you can’t see it all the time, but you can feel it and then sometimes you can see people with the right energy. I love that about people.
You want to surround yourself with people that have that strong energy because it’s contagious. Good or bad, who you hang around with, and what you focus on is going to be what you develop in your mind. How you show up and how you show up not only to other people but most importantly to yourself. If you don’t show up in the morning in the right energy and with the right focus on what you’re grateful for, what is your day going to be like? How do you expect to have the rest of the day show up for you? You got to show up for yourself and then guess what happened? You’ll attract the things in your life that you want to show up that is needed in your life. That’s the whole thing. Think of it like this. I watch sports once in a while. I’m not a big sports person, but I do watch sports.
I remember watching a boxing match years ago. I believe it was Rahman and Lennox Lewis. Rahman was not going to win. He was not going to beat Lennox Lewis. The odds were out there. I remember George Foreman being one of the commentators there. I remember Lennox Lewis coming out. Do you remember when Rocky came out, maybe this was in Rocky II, and the other guy’s coming out and he’s all this rock and roll? It’s like he was going to a concert or he was in a parade and Rocky beat him in the movie. Lo and behold, if this wasn’t the same, almost like this script was written, but it was real. I remember Lennox Lewis going out there and doing all this dancing. He had a rap artist introducing them and they’re dancing going down the aisle almost like he was celebrating like he’d already won. I believe you always believe and celebrate as if it already happened to you. However, you come from a place of gratitude and not ego. There’s a difference.
If you believe it, you feel it and you come from a place of gratitude, not ego. That’s when you get your right mindset. That’s when you attract things into your life. I remember George Foreman goes, “I’ve fought a lot of fights in there. I got to tell you, there’s no way, logically speaking or mathematically speaking, that Rahman will beat Lennox Lewis. It’s not going to happen. I don’t think it’s going to happen. The way Lennox is coming out, I’ve got some concerns. I’d be worried about this. I don’t know. He’s getting that ego. He’s stepping up and he’s doing it in the wrong way.” He’s an experienced boxer and what he noticed about Lennox is he was in the wrong state, the wrong frame of mind. When you’re in that wrong frame of mind and you’re coming from a place of, “Look at me, I’m wonderful and great. People should admire me. I am the world’s greatest gift to everybody.” Be careful because sometimes we get knocked down when we most need it.
Sometimes it happens in front of a lot of people. I remember that fight and I remember Rahman knocking out Lennox Lewis. I think it was the greatest thing that ever happened for Lennox and I’ll tell you why. When he got to beat, his whole attitude, you talk about a reality check. When we think we’re on top and we’re giving our best from a place of contribution, that’s different. When we’re on top and we think we’re better than somebody else, that’s when we need to learn our lesson. I never forgot that because they did a rematch. I remember talking to one of my very close friends and I said, “Jimmy, we should go bet everything we have on Lennox Lewis. There’s no way he’s going to lose this next fight. He will not let that happen.” He went in there, didn’t do any TV appearances and didn’t do anything.
I remembered when the rematch was and I said, “We got to bet everything we got. It doesn’t matter. There’s no way he’s going to lose. He learned his lesson.” They’re like, “I don’t know. Remember when you tried to get me to bet on Mike Tyson and Buster Douglas? Nobody would even take the bets.” I said, “Yes, but this is different. I saw something in him. I’m telling you, Lennox Lewis will not lose.” On the 2nd or 3rd round, he knocked out Rahman. It knocked him in a place where he realized you be grateful for everything you have and when he came out there, you could tell the energy. The energy was way different than, “I’m the world’s greatest.” It was, “I got a spank in front of thousands and millions of people. I deserved it.”
Waking Up With Energy
That’s what his whole energy was about and sometimes that’s a good thing. Sometimes we need that in life. Sometimes we need somebody to go, “Here’s a good old whack on the behind. You needed that.” It gets us back and it checks us in. Sometimes we need to check ourselves in. How we do that is when I talk about waking up and full of energy. When you have energy, do you realize when you’re energetic, you cannot be stressed? It sends different signals to your brain. If you wake up and you’re worried and you’re stressed and you’re thinking about, “I have to pay my bills. What’s going to happen?” You’re trying to control a situation that you cannot control. What do you do? How do you get rid of that?
What you do is number one is you got to change what you’re saying to yourself. Sometimes that’s hard to do. It’s like, “I keep repeating the same thing.” If you don’t change what you’re saying to yourself, then you got to change the one thing. You got to change what things mean to you. If you can change what things mean to you at that point, you’ll start feeling different. The most important thing is you got to change your physiology. Do you realize when you are in that physical high energetic state, that empowered state, the only thing you think about is winning in a way that is from gratitude? It’s empowering, influencing, sharing and helping others. When you come from a place like that, as a human being, it’s very natural for us to want to do good for ourselves and for others.
It’s not, “I’m better than you.” It showed up in a way. Sometimes by you showing up with that energy and you wake up in the morning and whatever move you need to make, whatever you need to say to yourself, at that point, you’re going to influence others. Sometimes you can influence others without saying anything. It’s the way you show up. How are you going to show up? I want you to think of a time when you woke up in the morning or during the day even when you were energetic you have this energy about you that was empowering. Did you feel like you can do anything? You were unstoppable. You were confident and you knew that nothing you were going to do was going to fail. Everything you touch was going to rock and roll. You were going to win that day.
Surround yourself with people that have that strong energy because it's contagious. Share on XDo you remember that day? Focus on that. I want you to focus on it and put yourself in that state. Feel that state. Make a move that would make you feel that way. How did you move your body? What did you do? What did you say to yourself? What were some of the things? How did you breathe? Do you remember that? You breathe in deep, held your head up high, and you smiled a lot. Your shoulders were back. Your voice was strong and you walked with confidence. How did that make you feel? You felt empowered because every thought is a physical response. If you can change your physiology, it changes your thoughts. How are you going to change your thoughts? Remember that time. I also want you to remember this.
Do you remember the time when you didn’t feel that empowerment? Not that I want you to go back, but how did you wake up then? How did you show up? Where was your physiology? Wasn’t it that your breathing, your shoulder, your thoughts, the way you communicate with people were different? People didn’t even want to be around you. It’s like, “Why would I want to be around this person?” Look at the energy and feel the energy. The truth is you didn’t even want to be around yourself because of what? If you’re in charge of your mind, and you are, and you’re in charge of what things mean to you, and you are, we can’t change events, but is it possible we can change what do things mean to us? Not only is it possible, if we don’t decide what it means to us, then our mind is going to start creating a pattern and a ritual.
If our ritual and patterns to be negative and to always turn things around in a negative way, we’re going to recondition that pattern. How do you break that pattern? It’s the way you move your body. I know before every live event I do, whether it’s doing a show in front of 50 people or 5,000 or 10,000 people or 100 people, it doesn’t matter. I look at it like this. Everyone in that audience is there because they’re there to listen, watch, learn, and experience something from me. I have a moral obligation to give them 100% and not to whine and complain about, “I didn’t have enough people show up.” That’s not their problem. The gift, the obligation, and the decision you made was to be on that stage to influence others. You show up and you show up every day. Look at Tony Robbins. Do you ever see Tony Robbins walk on stage and go, “I don’t feel like being here today, I’m sorry? Here’s what we’re going to do.”
He doesn’t do that. Why? He conditioned himself not to do that. Imagine conditioning yourself, your mind, and your body. Do you know where your business, your personal life is going to be? Do you know what your relationships are going to be like? Your relationships are going to be empowered. Here’s the invisible thing that you probably didn’t see is you’re going to attract people into your life that’s going to make a difference. Doors will open up. They’ve always been there, but now they open up differently because people want to work with people that have great energy. You can teach people skills but when they show up with energy, at that point, you got somebody you can grow with because they’ll influence others. The energy that you have will get you information and knowledge from other people that will get them to share the information to have.
In other words, by you showing up with the right energy, you’ll influence others that have different information and knowledge to share that and to expand their mind. I hope that made sense to you. It made sense in my mind. I remember the times when you show up in a way that is empowering, the rewards are plentiful and then you feel great about it. What if you wake up in a bad mood, “My day is going to be terrible? I got all these bills. What am I going to do?” and you’re on the, “Poor, pity me,” thing? Here’s a little tip. I want to give you an idea. Number one is when you feel like that, the first thing I want you to do is to brush your teeth. Nobody wants to smell your breath and you don’t want to smell your breath. You go in there. You take care of your personal business and then you stand in front of that mirror. For fifteen minutes, I want you to do nothing but smile and think, “I am grateful. I’m here today, I’m alive and it doesn’t matter what’s going to happen. I’m going to be able to handle it.”
Problems And Solutions
Do you know that things that are problems happen for us and the pain that we have is there because we’re about to learn a lesson? If we didn’t have problems, we wouldn’t learn new skills and develop our minds on how to handle problems. You’ve got to learn how to handle the problem in a certain way. The only way to develop those gifts and those talents are they are not learned, they’re experienced. When you can experience that, at that point, you start opening your mind. Problems become a daily routine where it’s like, “I do it this way.” It’s no longer a problem because if you can handle some problems, you condition your mind that nothing’s ever a problem. There’s always another solution. If you’re going down the road and you see a roadblock, and if all you see is a roadblock, you’ll never move forward.
If you say, “Look at all these other paths I can take to go around it. I can enjoy the process and view by doing that. I’m going to learn in different ways,” your mind is going to be inspired. Your mind is going to trigger different endorphins that are going to get you to the next level. You start creating different knowledge and information and how to handle things. When you become an exciting problem solver, your growth becomes extraordinary. What you’re doing is you’re opening up your mind to grow in ways you never thought. I have a business partner who does real estate. I’m not talking about a house here. I’m talking about developments. I’m talking about millions of dollars. He’s not afraid to go buy 11,000 acres and spend $110 million.
Do you think there are problems with that? Every project he does has a problem but every project he does, he creates the solution. How would you like to be that guy? How would you like to always have the answer? People call him with deals before they even hit the market because they know that he’ll figure it out. Why is it that certain people get certain deals? Is it because they’re better? Are they more experienced? It’s the way they handle the problems. He’s never burned anybody. Does that mean that every deal goes exactly right? I don’t think a deal goes exactly right, no matter what it is. There’s always something. We got done doing an event and we had Danny Trejo at our event. We had the opportunity and privilege. It was a very small event. There were like 11 or 12 of us there and we had the privilege of having Danny.
Look up his name, you’ll know him as a well-known actor. He had a hard life. He was in prison for ten years but he learned how to get out of that. We sat down with his business guys and his business partners. One of the questions they asked him was, “How much of the business plan when you first sat down do you stick to, to this day? How much of it is still on track?” He goes, “Hundred percent of it is different. Not one thing is the same because a business plan is the start of an adventure.” If you have to know how to be able to diversify and figure out solutions to things that come up because you can’t predict what’s going to happen, but you have to be ready to make changes quickly and adapt and learn no matter what happens that you’ll never stop growing.
Isn’t that interesting? I found that fascinating. I remember him saying that they grew fast that they didn’t have enough dishes in their Trejo’s Tacos stand. They had to figure out a solution, had to go buy a bunch more dishes and how do you wash them and clean them as fast as the customers were coming in? That is a problem, but it’s a great problem to have. He figured out a solution and when he figured out the solution, all the employees came together and they grew together because they solved this problem together. It made them even closer and tighter. They weren’t employees. They felt like they were part of growth, part of a company, a startup. They created this company that is going nationwide. They were on the ground level that they could say, “I was there when this happened.”
Wake up in the morning and fill yourself with gratitude, joy, and passion. Share on XThat’s a contribution. That’s how you inspire others. What does that do for the employee? That means when he wants to start his own business or she wants to start her own business, they know how to handle situations. They don’t say, “It’s supposed to be this way, so we got to do it this way.” No. They’ve got solutions. They can be creative. They know how to come together as a team. That’s what it is. If you walk into it with the energy like, “We don’t have enough dishes. We’re doomed. Life is going to fail our business. Shut the doors.” That energy is going to be throughout all the employees. Let’s get rid of this. Let’s figure it out.
When you wake up in the morning, here’s what I want you to do. I want you to wake up and I want you to feel empowered. Figure out a move and do this where nobody sees you. At first, you’re going to feel silly. You’re like, “I don’t want to make those moves. People are going to judge me.” So what if they judge you? They judge you once you become happy and you’re excited. They want to be like you. They’re not judging you. They want to be like you and you get to influence them and show them, “This is what I do. This is the moves I make.” Before every event, I remember one of my guys, we work with Tony and Rosita. They are very powerful team members. They supposedly are the sound guys. They’re not sound guys. They happen to run sound, but they’re a team player. My wife and I sit down and respect and admire them too.
The one thing we do is an hour or two before the event even starts, before we let anybody in is we clear the room. The only one allowed in the room is Tony and Rosita, my wife, and myself. The reason why is because I’m putting myself in that state. The state that I have to deliver. That trust that my head will have the answers if my heart’s in the right place, not from a place of ego. I put so much energy into getting myself in that right state when they walked through the doors that I know whether it’s 50 people or 500 people or 1,000 people that I’m going to deliver. I’m not coming from a place of ego. I’m coming from a place of gratitude. That energy is going to spark things. Do you do this while you’re talking and you’re thinking in your mind goes, “Where’d that come from you?”
You surprise yourself like, “Where’d that come from?” That means you got to study. You got to get the information, but it shows up when you most need it. When you’re coming from a place of gratitude and a place where that energy is, that energy is contagious. Wake up in the morning and I want you to fill yourself full of gratitude, full of joy, and give yourself that passion. When you start to feel down, just take a deep breath in and as you take a deep breath in, let it out. As you let it out, feel the energy going through your body. Your oxygen is giving your body what it needs. What it does, it changes the way you think, feel, and respond. You can create these rituals in your mind and your body so when you wake up, you feel empowered.
That doesn’t mean you don’t have downtimes. You just don’t have to live there. There is a song that says, “If you’re going through hell, keep on going.” Don’t stop there. You don’t need to get burned by that. If you’re going through a bad situation, keep on going, and learn how to handle it. I want to make sure that I’m the best coach for you.
